Decentlab's indoor climate sensor allows to detect air quality, temperature and lighting in offices, classrooms, hospitals, shopping malls and other indoor spaces. It continuously measures the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2), volatile organic compounds (VOC), temperature, humidity, air pressure, ambient light and motion (PIR). This data provides information about the presence of people and enables efficient control of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting.
Possible applications
Overview - Air quality measurement
Some of the sensors for measuring carbon dioxide differ in the way they work. While some measure CO₂ directly, other sensors measure the so-called eCO₂. With eCO₂, it is not carbon dioxide as such that is measured but the volatile organic compounds in the air (VOC). The CO₂ content is calculated from these. In many applications, eCO₂ is perfectly adequate, but for some cases it must be exact. VOCs are often found in varnishes, paints and adhesives during the processing of materials. The resulting vapours usually cause headaches and irritate the mucous membranes.
