The Sontex Ei6500 SA2 is a smoke alarm designed for remote inspection in accordance with DIN 14676-1 (Method C), available as the SA2-O with Wireless M-Bus (OMS-compatible) or as the SA2-L with LoRaWAN (Class A). The optical scattered light sensor triggers an alarm at a minimum of 85 dB(A), while an ultrasonic obstacle detection system monitors smoke ingress and the device’s surroundings up to 0.5 m. The permanently integrated 10-year lithium battery ensures maintenance-free operation; the annual inspection is conducted entirely remotely using AES-128 encryption. Self-monitoring, automatic soiling compensation, tamper detection, and a mute function are standard features. Designed for rooms up to 60 m², KRIWAN-approved and compliant with EN 14604, ideal for the housing industry and building management.

Sales are made exclusively in standard packaging units (1 PU = 20 pieces).

What is the expected lifespan and battery type of the smoke detector?

The device is equipped with a non-replaceable 3V lithium battery (2400mAh) designed to last for at least 10+1 years, which covers the entire operational life of the detector.

How does the device detect smoke and what area does it cover?

The detector uses an optical scattered light sensor for early fire detection. It can monitor an area of up to 60 m2 and provides an acoustic alarm with a sound pressure level of over 85 dB(A) at a 3-meter distance.

What intelligent features support the remote inspection and monitoring of the unit?

As a Type C device, it features intelligent self-monitoring, automatic pollution compensation to adjust sensitivity, and ultrasonic obstacle detection to ensure smoke entry openings are clear within a 0.5-meter radius. It also includes manipulation detection to report if the device is dismantled.

How do the SX-EI6500SA2LR1000 and SX-EI6500SA2ORE001 variants differ in communication?

The SX-EI6500SA2LR1000 variant utilizes LoRaWAN technology for integration into public or private networks with a daily data transmission interval. In contrast, the SX-EI6500SA2ORE001 variant uses Wireless M-Bus (wM-Bus) or OMS, transmitting data every 2 to 4 minutes depending on the selected mode.

What happens if the LoRaWAN model fails to connect to the network initially?

The network join process starts automatically upon activation. If a join attempt fails, the device is programmed to repeat the attempt every day at midnight until it successfully connects.

Can the alarm be silenced in the event of a false trigger?

Yes, the device features a combined test and mute button. A manual mute function can suppress false alarms for approximately 10 minutes, and fault signals can be silenced for up to 12 hours.

What are the physical installation requirements for optimal performance?

The detector should be mounted with a minimum distance of 0.5 m from obstacles. It has an IP20 protection rating and is designed to operate in environments with temperatures between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius.
