The Dragino MDS200 is a microwave radar distance sensor. It uses 24Ghz microwaves to detect the distance between the sensor and various objects. Compared to the ultrasonic or lidar measurement method, the microwave radar is more reliable in condensed and dusty environments. It can detect the correct distance even if there is water or thick dust on the sensor.
Areas of application:
- Horizontal distance measurement
- parking management system,
- Capture object proximity,
- Intelligent waste garbage can management system
- Obstacle detection for robots,
- automatic control,
- Kanalization
- Monitoring the groundwater level
The MDS200 can measure two distances: the closest object and the closest object behind the closest object. The sensor can be set to send data at a short interval when the distance is outside the configured range. The radio technology used enables devices to send data and achieve extremely long ranges at low data rates. It offers spread spectrum communication with an extremely long range and high interference immunity with minimal power consumption.
